Who We Are

Leading Australia TradeCoast Developers

BNE Property

BNE Property is Brisbane Airport Corporation’s (BAC) Property Division, responsible for guiding sustainable property development at Brisbane Airport within BAC’s overall 2,700 hectare lease holding. We believe Brisbane Airport has the potential to become one of the key commercial, recreational and lifestyle hubs in Brisbane.

We have big goals; our vision is to ensure BNE becomes a place of transit and gathering for people, ideas and materials, a vibrant centre for commerce, innovation and recreation.

We care about our tenants; our leasehold makes up more than 30% of the Australia TradeCoast and represents one of south-east Queensland’s largest contiguous single-owner sites. We understand what it takes to offer a property management experience that’s second to none – we look after a portfolio valued at more than $1.3 billion including retail, commercial, industrial and land developments.

We care about sustainable development and make it our business to ensure we minimise environmental impacts in everything we do. BNE is the first precinct in Australia to be awarded a Green Building Council of Australia Green Star. We boast an integrated power network, water management system and solar initiatives that maximise energy efficiencies and support the environment surrounding our site. We have invested in dedicated biodiversity zones protecting 285 hectares of wetlands and grasslands within our leasehold.

As a 24-hour global trade and commerce centre, BNE has the space and capacity for businesses to develop and grow in a strategically designed and ideally located environment.  We’ve been instrumental in the development of Skygate, BNE Auto Mall and a great range of non-aeronautical projects around the airport and have a strong vision to continue to provide world-class development opportunities in the South East Queensland region.

BNE Property looks after more than 425 businesses with nearly 24,000 workers at BNE. These businesses cover a breadth of industries and services including freight and aircraft handling, research, manufacturing, property and infrastructure development, education, training, recreation, tourism, accommodation, leisure and retail.

BAC

BAC, the operator of Brisbane Airport is a proud, private, unlisted Queensland company, employing hundreds of Queenslanders and creating economic opportunities for the state and city of Brisbane equating to more than $4 billion annually.

Brisbane Airport operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and comprises two major terminals accommodating 32 airlines flying more than 23.2 million passengers to 80 domestic and international destinations, annually. BNE is a thriving suburb in its own right, the largest capital city airport in Australia by land size and the third-largest airport in Australia by passenger numbers.

Brisbane Airport Corporation Pty Limited purchased Brisbane Airport from the Federal Government in 1997 under a 49 year lease with an option to renew for a further 50 years. Under this unique leasehold tenure, BAC retains ownership and control of the airport in its entirety for the duration of the lease term up to 2096.

BAC will invest $3.8 billion in projects over the next decade including Brisbane’s New Runway [link], new car parks and access facilities, terminal expansions, road upgrades, and new aprons and aeronautical facilities. By 2034, BNE is expected to contribute $8.2 billion to the Queensland and $13.4 billion to the Australian economy, annually.
