Business soars to new heights at Skygate

New commercial buildings, retail offerings and sculptures are all part of the quickly expanding Skygate precinct located at Brisbane Airport.

Marketing Business Development Manager, Cory Heathwood, said the 42 hectare Skygate site located just off Airport Drive at the entrance to Brisbane Airport is a key focus of development interest.

“It really has been an extraordinary 18 months for Brisbane Airport and BNE Property,” Mr Heathwood said.

“We released the Property Development Master Plan, launched Skygate, hosted the Australian premiere of Cavalia, and made history with Skygate becoming the home of Queensland’s first 24-hour Woolworths.”

An Expression of Interest was launched earlier this year for the development of a 10,000sqm commercial office building situated next to the existing Novotel Brisbane Airport at Skygate.

“The development of this new high profile commercial building will reinforce Brisbane Airport as a quality business destination,” Mr Heathwood said.

Golf Central BNE will also be opening soon, featuring an expansive 30 undercover bay driving range, grass tee hitting zone, chipping and putting greens, TaylorMade Performance Lab (only the ninth in the world) and coaching centre.

The precinct’s retail offer is also growing, with the recent opening of Australia’s largest privately owned dry cleaners Peerless Dry Cleaners.

“With the new dry cleaners and Queensland’s only 24-hour Woolworths, The Village Markets is going from strength to strength.

People are choosing to work and shop at Skygate,” Mr Heathwood said.

“Skygate truly is a vibrant retail, commercial and lifestyle precinct and a great business address that is convenient with plenty of parking and public transport that’s not only so close to the terminals but just 8km from the city,” Mr Heathwood said.
