BAC ACQUIRES ART WITH ALTITUDE ARTWORK

Brisbane Airport Corporation is pleased to announce that it has acquired Phillip Piperides’ Images sculpture, an exquisite bronze sculpture currently exhibited at Art with Altitude.

The work was commissioned for the festival, which runs from 24 to 27 October at Skygate, Brisbane Airport.

Images is a bronze sculpture that reflects, individually and in a group, figures passing each other in their own space and moment.

Phillip Piperides is a highly regarded sculptor based at Brendale on Brisbane’s northside with featured works including the statue of the Bee Gees located at Redcliffe and Darren Lockyer outside Suncorp Stadium.

Brisbane Airport CEO and Managing Director Julieanne Alroe said Images would be wonderful addition to Skygate and the airport’s art collection.

“Brisbane Airport has one of the largest private collections of public artwork in Australia and I am very pleased that we can acquire such a wonderful piece that people can enjoy and admire and that will also add to the atmosphere of the growing Skygate precinct,” Ms Alroe said.
